Ellen and Travis’ wedding was simple and elegant, hosted in eastern Virginia. Even without a wedding party, Ellen and Travis were lovingly supported by family and friends. All of the pews in St. Stephen’s Angelican Church were filled with guests! Ellen entered the church with hymns of praise, and the ceremony was finished with laughter as the pastor announced them as “Ellen and Travis Gwaltney” (Ellen’s maiden name). I thought it was on purpose. Others speculated that Ellen paid the pastor to stumble. Whatever the cause, everyone laughed and celebrated the marriage of the new Mr. and Mrs. Johnson.
About a half hour south, the reception was held at the cutest bed and breakfast I’ve ever been to, The Hope and Glory Inn. The main house is decorated with bright colors and antiques, and the backyard hosts several cottages for guests. One of my favorite things about the site was the signs that decorated the pathway to the dance tent. At the bottom of this post are six of my favorites.
Ellen and I go way back to when we were both in worship team for Campus Crusade for Christ at Syracuse. It was so great to reconnect with Ellen, and to see her find her match.
Congrats Ellen and Travis! I wish you nothing but happiness.
Have to love the outdoor bathroom.
Yes, there was a bathtub and shower.
These signs decorated the pathway to the dance tent.
This little girl had the most BEAUTIFUL blue eyes!
Ellen’s dad gave a great toast to the bride and groom.
Ellen and Travis’ first dance was to U2′s “In a Little While.” This kicked off dancing for the night with music hosted by DJ KO of KO Performance Audio.
